This is my first official critique so I hope you will keep that in mind<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile) - "/>
I really like this artwork but I would like to see more of the detail that was put into the maul, face and armour, on the cape, boots and epaulettes. It seems a bit unbalanced.
I think the cape could use some more blending and lighter highlites. I also think the boots and epaulettes could use thinner strands to add a deeper contrast to the fur.
His face is very well done and his expression suits his pose and warrior disposition. His hair is well done and not all perfect looking which also suits his character. He's a warrior not a movie star.
The details on the maul really draw your eyes to it but the handle looks a bit blurry compared to the rest of it.Your choice of color for the cape seems to work well with the rest of the picture.
All in all I really like this piece and think you are quite talented.
